I just got it yesterday and put 20 practice rounds through it and a couple of times shells were thrown in my face. Its a .45. What could be the cause of this and is it hard to fix?

Are you holding it properly with a secure grip? Sometimes when you "limp wrist" a .45 it'll do that. You don't need a death grip, just a good firm grip. If that don't do it the ejector may need to be modified or replaced. Since the P250 is a newer gun it's highly likely still under warranty. Take it back to the dealer for warranty work if the firm hold don't do the trick.

You aren't shooting left handed are you?

I know little about the Sig P250 but when my 1911s start to throw brass at me I check the extractor pressure. A slight shift in pressure will change the location of ejected brass. A wide shift will result in FTF/FTE issues.

I always measure my extractor pressure when I get a new gun. If I then experience brass or load issues, a re-measurement will let me know what direction I need to tweak the extractor to fix the issue.

A good cleaning wouldn't hurt. Sometimes a piece of crud in an extractor can produce undesirable effects. You mentioned that you just picked it up. Had it been cleaned at all before firing?

This may not be the problem, but it's a cheap and easy thing to eliminate.

Clean and oil the piece properly and give it a nice firm grip. Hold it like you're shaking someone's hand. Make sure you're using a full power load. If its still spitting the bass in your face, it needs to go back to Sig.
