Default Sig P238

Anyone have any opinions about this handgun? I am interested in one at the moment and would like to see how people feel about this handgun. Please, chime in with any good and bad if you have any.

I have an old Colt Mustang which I guess is the predecessor to the sig.

It's a smooth little gun and good if you are comfortable with a 1911 style cocked and locked carry.

I like my Colt though. Pretty accurate and reliable.

I assume the sig is an improvement.

As long as you're cool with the single action, you can't go wrong.

Only thing I am concerned with is the size. Pretty big hands, and the LCP I own is REALLY small in my hand. After looking at some video of the thing, it looks around the same size.

The 1911 thing is perfect, best gun ever made IMO.

The gun is pretty small.

I have medium sized hands and it works for me.

Don't think I'd recommend it if you have really big paws.

What's the main appeal of this gun? 1911 operation? Caliber?

I shot a friends a year or so ago, Out of the 2 magazines I shot, It has feeding or ejecting issues on 3 bullets, However SIG has some suggestions.

SIG SAUER : Product Alerts

I liked it, It was quite small, I'm not sure if 380 is still an issue to find or not, I haven't looked.

I am wanting to collect each caliber in a different maker, just a thing. So it would be caliber and I could get it for pretty dang cheap. The LCP is too small and I hate it, I would probably hate this as well.

I was planning on getting a 238, but I heard Colt is thinking of a reporduction 380 government or mustang. I will wait to see if it happens!

::shrugs::

I'd still go for the P238 but I wouldn't buy a gun you wouldn't enjoy shooting.

Haven't shot it or even handled one yet, but check out Kimber's new "Solo."

Kimber America | Solo 9 mm Pistols

Compact 9mm with a 1911 operation.

I'm gonna check it out.

I tried out a P238 a few months ago. It is a pleasure to shoot after shooting my P3AT. At 7 yards I was high and right but still inside the 5" red center. The trigger was lawyered up but that could be fixed. No malfunctions. The price is double the P3AT but I think it is worth it. You might want to hold out to see the Colts.
