Sig 238 vs LCP, help me decide

I'm not a big fan of small autos but my new job almost requires that I buy one for pocket carry. It will be a BUG to my 45 any other time but while I'm at work i need something I can slip in my pocket.

I really like the Sig, it feels great in my hand, points easily and who wouldn't want a mini 1911? What concerns me is that it has more areas that it could snag when being pulled quickly from a pocket holster. I also like the idea of the HD model which is complete stainless because the hottest 380 load I can find is from Buffalo Bore and it's stout. I think the Sig would be able to handle this better.

LCP trigger is LONG and the sights suck. I also tend to point it like a glock so if I'm point shooting for your chest I'm going to hit you in the gut. It has absolutely nothing to snag on though which is a big plus.

Who here carries either of these in their pocket? Share your thoughts.

I just finished the same search.

The Sig just feels great, but I came to the same conclusion. There's too much on the frame of the gun for pocket carry. Plus I want a long trigger pull on a pistol I'm drawing from a pocket. The trigger on the Sig is the best you'll find on any 380, but I would want a belt holster for it.

As for the LCP, I compared it to the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard and found the sights to be better, and you get a built in laser. Trigger is comparable.

I wound up with the S&W.

Have you guys looked at the Kimber Solo?

I have an LCP, it's cool but if you can afford it the Kahr 380 is the finest 380 I have ever shot IMO.

KAHR P380

The kahr looks like it might fit the bill. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on one.

Jpyle, the solo is just too big for pocket carry. I thought about rechambering a 238 in 9mm a while back but ran into some issues. If the 238 was a 9mm, this wouldn't even be a discussion.

Check-out ELSIEPEAFORUM.COM This web-site is all about the RUGER (LCP) and has alot of info on the little gun....It's a cheap little gun,but depends on how much $$$ money you want to spend there are better guns to be had....The price is right....ELSIEPEAFORUM.COM is only Ruger(LCP)'s and nothing else....
