Eh. They look similar to the inexperienced eye. When they both came out they were blocker and all black, when compared to other guns.

Gang bangers like to go on YouTube and talk about their Glock while displaying Hi-points.

But the heavier slide and recoil spring along with the blowback operation of the Hi-point actually makes them feel like more if a block or a brick over the hand. They do work though.

I wouldn't trade one of my Glocks for one though.

The Kel-Tec P3AT is a .380. I just saw this new at my favorite gun store for $279. There will be naysayers who who will claim that Kel-Tec is worthless. Also, Ruger LCP .380 sells for about $339 w/o laser. This is a top quality pistol. There are plenty of informative youtube videos on both these pistols. Watch them all.

Don't all black guns look alike? Just like all black dudes look alike, all white dudes look alike, all Mexican dudes look alike, and definitely all Chinese dudes look alike. I guess some people have a different outlook on things or a trained eye like you said. I think hi point is the ugliest gun in production today, but that's just me

Bought a Taurus TCP 738 for $219. Good little shooting gun. Also it fits in your pocket for SD.

I was asking about the 7 series a few weeks back. My Cousin has a 709 and swears by his.

I have a lot of experience with Kel Tec pistols, especially the P 3AT. When it runs it is a good shooting pistol. But you have to be able to keep it running. If you have no experience fixing guns you don't want a kel tec. They require a lot of maintenance. They are not like a Ruger or a Glock that you can shoot 10,000 times with nothing breaking. Every 500 or 600 rounds you will need to change a few parts on a kel tec. Kel Tec will send the parts for free, no questions asked. But you will need to be able to install the parts. If you are ready for all that you are a potential kel tec owner. There is no pistol as light and easy to carry as a Kel tec. I would get a P11. You can carry it in your front pocket. If you put a trigger stop on a P11 it is just as accurate as any pistol once you learn to use the trigger stop to stage the trigger.

I have a couple of Tokerevs and love them. Ammo was cheap the last time I checked and I have never had a malfunction when shooting them. You do need to clean them after shooting the surplus ammo b/c it is corrosieve and ammo choices are limited. That said they are a blast at the range---sort of like the Mosin-Nagant of the pistol world.
