I love my S&W M&P Pro
It's a great shooter.
I've just bought a M&P 9c Compact yesterday - haven't even shot it yet.
I've sold all of my Glocks (except 1) in favor of the M&P's
I looked hard at the "Shield".
But decided on the 9c because of the added capacity & very similar size.

And in order to get one, you have to pay to join Bud's VIP club for the privilege of paying full MSRP! WTF? I don't think so.

Crazy! I didn't see that, but of course supply and demand makes a big difference. Wait a few more months and they will be readily available and below MSRP.

Well guess the shield is out for me. They just don't like us southpaws.

One was an S&W M29 .44 Magnum and the other was a Weatherby SA-08 12ga semi-auto shotgun.

For a savings of $100 and a slightly narrower frame you give up the ability to run a light (a BIG advantage of the M&P Compact 9mm), the ability to switch backstraps, mag capacity and the ambidextrous controls
|
It's a compact. All of the guns it's competing with don't have any of those features save for the Kimber which has ambidextrous controls. And it costs twice the price and has far too many problems to even consider. And as for capacity, it has more than it's competition as well which is 6+1 where the shield is 7+1. And I wouldn't want to add a light to my EDC anyways.
I don't see the fail here. Personally, I think GunWebsites is being completely idiotic here.

Agreed. I have a M&P9C as an EDC with no light and it works just fine. My only issue is the safety. If you're going to put a thumb safety on, at the very least accommodate for lefty's out there with an ambi safety or another model variant.

Yeah, it's just not practical to have a light on a gun that small. And who is going to try and conceal a gun with a light on it anyways? I can agree though, have an option for the lefty's.

Yep I'm going for small...not tacking on a light.
