I don't want to keep a high quality gun in there seeing how someone could steal my truck or my gun. Either way I would be out of a gun. but the bad part is after i finished cleaning my taurus it has some pitting that really sucks seeing how it never had any pitting to begin with. Word to the wise don't keep any irons in your vehicle cause they'll rust on you.
Taurus is getting a little better but there are several reasons Taurus looks like a high quality firearm but is not. Brazilian steel is only slightly better than Chinese steel. If you Taurus was not stainless, it was high carbon steel and it is going to corrode. All alloy steel of this type needs a finish. the bluing on Taurus is fair but not great. Some Taurus models have stainless steel line barrels, mainly to help prevent corrosion. Over oiling is not recommended. You might try Gunzilla.

I am not so sure about that sigp250, I have owned a Taurus for the past 20yrs. I have lives in humid condition, dry heat. It all comes down to maintance. A light coat of oil on any weapon will work.
