Russian tt-33 tokarev pistol

So I went to visit my dad this week at his new house and he was showing me is dads old firearms. We ran across this tokarev that's was very dirty and beat up. It was been sitting in a container for lord only knows how many years. Finish is terrible but we stripped it down and cleaned it as the slide couldn't lock back and didn't function well. Cleaned and reassembled this thing operates wonderfully. He has to find the magazine, when it was moved from his old home he seperated the two as was instructed by the moving company. We will look for it in the morning.

Here it is, all numbers matching

I here a lot of the CCCP logo is usually scraped off the grips but these are in tact, I really would like to have this re finished but will ruin the value of it. Might just hang onto it and get it cleaned up anyways.

Very neat pistol. Keep us updated on it if you plan to do any work on it. :)

There are magazines out there, if you cannot locate the original. If you haven't shot the 7.62x25mm at night, try it for a blast.

We did find the magazine, it had .30 lugers in it? Looks like they chamber but why those?

orangello 02-27-2013 11:16 PM

Really? I don't know why those would be there. Of course, it does look similar to 7.62x25mm. Weird.

I've heard that the Germans used .30 Luger rounds in captured Tokarev pistols.

.30 Mauser pistol rounds- yes. .30 luger- no. Rounds headspace off the case mouth- WAY too short.

You're right I meant .30 Mauser and typed. 30 Luger.

The old TOK is ugly, crude, and built like a tank.

One of the true classics of military sidearms. Powerful, and lotsa fun to shoot.

The Tok is 7.62 X 25 and the Mauser is 7.63 X 25. The .30 Mauser is a lower pressure loading than the 7.62 X 25. Caution, there is a large amount of 7.62 X 25 Sub Gun ammo out there it is very hard on the T-33. The CZ-52 can digest any of these rounds.;)
