Ruger Standard (value)
I found an ad on Craigslist and a guy has a ruger standard he is trying to sell for 250. I don't think that seems right. I am somewhat knowledgeable on firearms and value but nothing that hasn't been made since the 1980. I personally am thinking no more than 100-150 but like I said I don't know for sure. If anyone knows anything about it please help. From the picture I would say fair to good condition. Probably not excellent.

$150 to $200 would be about right around here.

Thanks a lot

I guess it depends on how old it is. When did they make the first one, 1949?

I recently purchase a 1978 standard which was a safe queen. Perfect condition, even had the box.
I paid $349 for it and felt it was fairly priced. I have not seen anything worthwhile down in the $150-200 range in any California gun shops for quite a long time. As far as .22 pistols go, hard to beat the Standard or any of the Mark 1,2,3series. They have been a benchmark for small caliber pistols for years. |
I would be suspicious of any gun being sold on Craig's List to start with. Craig's List does not allow the sale of guns or live ammo, usually delete any postings selling either immediately and are very clear in their Terms of Service that no firearms are allowed.
