I have the SR9c. I love the way it shoots. Ruger replaced the guide rod assembly due to excessive wearing on two opposite sides and replaced the 10 round magazine because it wouldn't drop clear with 5 or more rounds still in it. Even with the new mag, it still won't drop clear of the mag well when partially loaded. Might need to send it in for them to look into that issue.
I just ran a hundred more through my SR40c (200 total. Just got it last week) and its amazing. I think back on how my Block 27 shot, and that put me off .40 S&W. The Ruger feels like it was made for that cart. Great little pistol. I would love a P95. My buddy has the .45 and it's just great to use. I know Ruger isn't known for their centerfire pistols, but I love every one I've ever had the pleasure of handling!
The compacts have one of the best striker fire, DAO triggers I've ever handled, like those of Glock!!! I highly reccommend. As for caliber, I have no dog in fight because my view there is extremely unpopular. All I can tell you is that 9mm is cheap, so for that reason I'd go that route.
