I have a Mark II and I love it. Very accurate gun. But unlike BYB, I think it's kind of 'ugly'. But I wouldn't sell it for the world.

Though I must say she is very pretty with her scope and volquartsen grips. Ruger Mark III or SR22 - Semi-Auto Handguns

I paid $315 at a gun show in July. Saw them more recently from $300 - 350. Awesome little shooter. Was going to buy the Buckmark. but just liked the compact design or the SR22.

Didn't they mess w the trigger on the MK III to make it CA compliant ? Ruger triggers don't need any more help in being bad. I believe they will not fire - MK III only - w/o magazine. MK IIs - none of that BS and plenty of them on used mkt. (you can not wear them out - steel models super durable.)

If weight is an issue, new Lite model deserves some attention. Completely different feel, handle angle for 22/45. Not Glock bad but in the neighborhood.

The mag safety just messes with the trigger to make it suck worse.

The Mark iii does have a magazine disconnect but that is easy enough to fix with an $8 hammer bushing from a Mark ii.

My aunt has a SR22 and it's a great little gun. While I have have never shot an MKIII, I currently own an standard (and several more in the past) and that is a great little gun. I've NEVER had any problems with my standard...ever. If I was choosing, I'd be torn as well. Both good little plinkers.

I must say, the mark 3 lites are very nice, even with the disconnect. I live the triggers on them.

FYI: I just got an email that GSGPro.com just released an aftermarket stainless steel guide rod for the Ruger SR-22.

The one they make for the GSG/Sig is well crafted, so worth looking into.
