A friend and I rented and shared a Ruger Mark III for use in our concealed carry course. It was excellent for both of us. We both scored better than anyone in our shooting section (we were in different sessions since we shared a gun). She beat me! But I had taught her to shoot. It's that women thing - they can be such excellent shooters!
Anyway... we had such good luck with that dirty old rented Mark III that I had to buy one for myself!
It is excellent!

I have no experience with the Smith 22.

Make that 2 for the Browning Buckmark. I know it's not on the list, but you owe it to yourself to check them out.
