Ruger Mark II problem?
 

Ok, so my uncle has had this Mark II for quite some years.
Well recently, it has been only firing one round, then none at all.
I spent 4 hours workin on it, to no avail.
I have noticed that the pin that holds the bolt catch, the safety, and the hammer in place ALWAYS comes loose. The hammer strut seems to be somewhat stuck off to the side, and this thing is really tight we you try to get it all back together. I think I need to order a new pin and hammer strut. Any suggestions?

I have a Ruger and love it BUT they have a strange way of doing things. I would call Ruger and see if it's under warranty. Worth a call. Good luck

I know that it is probably the most complicated handgun I have worked on. It's a great gun, but a maintenance nightmare.

Really need more information. After it fires the one round, does it eject this round? If yes, then does it feed the following round?

Yes and yes. After that, it will not cock/fire

Sounds like an issue with the sear to me. The sear is not holding the hammer back after it was cocked from the recoil of the first round. So the hammer drops with the slide.

But wouldn't that fire the next round, or do you mean it just "rolls" with the slide?

There is not enough force.

It doesn't matter. It won't cock at at, anymore.
