JonM here on this forum has a Mark III with a suppressor. Very nice set up, indeed.

Thats the new Ruger MKIII that comes from the factory threaded. Although I have been threading a lot of barrels for suppressors, if someone just needs to buy a pistol for a suppressor platform, this is one of the best deals going.

The barrel is short enough that both supersonic and subsonic dont sound a whole lot differrent, so you can use the el cheapo Remington or Federal 550 packs at Walmart.

The can is a Huntertown Arms Guardian, a can that ranks at the top with other cans that cost twice as much. I've been selling lots of them for 200 bucks, which is another great deal. Of course, one must pay the 200 tax stamp on top of that.

This Ruger also comes with taller sights so that you can sight right over the can, not many guns have sights tall enough to do that as the suppressor covers them up.

This gun is quiet and very accurate. With the can on it, it's become one of my favorites.

here is mine:

thats 250 shot at 15 yards suppressed.

its got a few mods for reliability and ease of use. got rid of the loaded chamber indicator. it was gunking up after 500 rounds and causing fail to feed problems. got rid of the magazine safety as well.

after making the mods i now have 2500 rounds down the tube have yet to clean it no failures other than factory duds. ill clean the gun when it finally jams.

the suppressor is a silencerco sparrow. its totally user servicable which is a must for a 22lr suppressor. they are DIRTY DIRTY bullets. but even centerfire you should only use copper jacketed bullets in suppressors or you will lead up your pricey can in a few hundred shots.

the innards of the sparrow silencer:

if you want the best 22lr pistol on the market get the ruger Mark series. the mark3 can be easily turned into a mark2 with a few simple mods

JonM, please explain how to do the mods that you did to yours. i might want to change mine similar to yours if it isn't too difficult. BTW, very nice pistol!

The ruger is a fine piece - I've really liked the angle of the grip, makes me look like a pro shooter - but honestly I like the Browning Buckmark much better...amazing gun - never once has it jammed - even after well over 1,000 rounds - crazy fun gun...we got a leupold 2x scope on it...the MOST fun I've ever had with a pistol...we were taking out tums anti-acid tables from 25 yards with that thing! I've got to post a picture of it when i get it back from my bro.

i had given consideration to the browning buckmark, but none were available at this time through my gun dealer. he had just gotten in the ruger, and having had more experiance in the past with rugers, i decided to buy it. i don't reget for one minute buying the ruger as so far i am very pleased with it. have had several ruger rifles in the past and they always performed exactly as they were suppose to.

My Ruger Mark II Competition Target model with a Bushnell 2-6 X 32 scope. She's a much better shooter than I am.
