Ruger LC9 ??
 

Thinking about getting one. Any experience with it?

Accumulator: Sir, Saturday at a gun show; I had the opportunity to hold one. :) It does appear to be another good pocket type CC, light, and gripped nicely.
I have LCP, I was able to lay the LC9 dirrectly over the LCP, not much size difference.:)
All in all; me might have one:)

Since the LC9 has not even been out for two months yet, you may want to hold off on one for awhile to see if any quirks show up on the new production gun.
Prices will also come down on the LC9 in about 6 months. ;)

While I like Rugers in general, they have had recalls on many of their new models. I'm not a fan of being a beta tester when it comes to firearms...

While I feel NGIB has a good point, I think Ruger is a pretty straight forward firearms company that backs their products... I recently bought an SR9 which was one of the first Ruger models to be released with a composite and not metal lower. I love it, and so far all the Rugers I have tried. I have shot several 10/22's, 77/22's, my SR9, an LCP .380 and several other models owned by my extended family and only encountered problems with one of the 10/22's that had been "modded for compact carry and hunting convenience". I say go for it, if CC is what you have in mind...

I bought my Ruger LC9 the 1st week that they were being shipped.

I just happened to be in my LGS when UPS delivered 3 of them.

I looked at, then bought mine.

IMHO Ruger has hit another home run with the LC9.

I shoots great, has good sights.

It's about 25% larger than my LCP, but it fits in my front jeans pocket.

It fills the pocket, but is not uncomfortable.

I have put about 300 rounds through it w/o a single burp.

Its sure to get a few hits as I am sure that many people are looking at the LC9.
BTW, its great to here that the weapon works well. It looks much better than the Kel-tec PF-9!

Is the safety stiff enough to prevent accidental activation during firing?

The safety will not come on or off accidentally - it's stiff - since I never put it on, it will not "break-in.

By the way I had a KelTek P11 and could not get rid of it fast enough, but some people like them.

As I said, I've shot mine a lot and it's just fine for accuracy.

It's by no means a target gun, nor was it meant to be.

Yesterday the range master saw it and asked to shoot it (this happens a lot when people see it). He put 8 shots in the ten ring @ 25'. :eek:

I can't do that . :D

Anyway, everyone should buy what you want and what works for you.

But this gun already is a big seller for Ruger and works well for me.

Bought 1 of these, nice little pistol, da only with the long trigger pull. It kicks up when shot, but not harsh to shoot. It's light ad easily concealed and accurate.
