Default Ruger 22/45 Threaded Barrel - What's for?

Ruger has recently introduced the threaded barrel versio of 22/45. It says the threaded is for muzzle attachment. What's it intended for?

I wonder if Ruger also sell any muzzle attachment for this 22/45. What're the options? Silencer? Muzzle brake?

I know it's a pain to get approval for purchasing a silencer. How about other accessories attached to the muzzle?

Thanks.

The correct term is "Suppressor".

I'm in CA, so I may not have this exactly right, but as far as I know, you pay a fee/tax and you can legally buy a suppressor. Otherwise they are illegal to possess.

The only thing it's done for it a suppressor - nothing else makes sense on a .22 pistol...

I happened upon the Ruger site last night and saw it and was like "what!!!"I think that Ruger will still do well with it,Ruger understands that there's a mall ninja crowd that will still buy it thinking they can match the threads at home depot and make their own suppressor.

Its not a "pain" to buy a suppressor. Its a process. It costs money, and takes time.

If your a law abiding citizen who resides in a free state, they're quite easy to get approved.

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?

Thanks for all your replies. Actually I don't have much use of a supressor bcz the 22l.r. is not loud to shoot. I might just a regular MKIII or 22/45.

I just picked up a P4MKIII(MKIII 22/45 4" barrel),all the new 22/45's are MKIII's,its confusing,if it has a luger style grip it's a straight MKIII whether it has a luger style barrel or bull barrel,if it has the 1911 straighter grip its a MKIII 22/45 even if it has a luger style barrel.
