My Ruger 22/45 tends to jam on the ejecting casing A LOT. I fired about 200 rds yesterday, and had 2-4 jams out of almost every 10 rd. mag. I was using three different factory mags btw.
What's happening is the rim of the ejecting casing is getting caught between the next round in the mag, and the rod that sticks out from the 'recoil spring assembly'.
It acts like the spent casing isn't getting ejected fast enough, and the next round in the mag. is coming up before the spent casing is clear.
Has anyone else had this problem? What's the solution?

I had a new Mk III that did the exact same thing and here's one possibility.
The empty is being knocked off the extractor by the rear feed lips of the mags. Replacing the factory extractor with a Volquartsen will usually solve this as will rounding off the front of the rear feed lips on the mags. I did this with all 3 of my factory mags and no more problems. Go here for the best info on Ruger .22s...
