Question on storing pistols.....need help.

Is it ok for me to store my pistols in their holsters while they are in the gun safe? Thank you for your help. Ed

If you have a Goldenrod dehumidifier in there you *might* be ok.

Kydex & plastic should be no problem.
Leather *can* be problematic because of its ability to retain moisture and start corrosion on your weapon.
Some people won't even store pistols in a nice new pistol rug (case).

I use pistol rugs whilst storing everything that does not need to be immediately accessible.
I also keep a liberal (dirty word) coating of BF CLP on all my stuff and generally don't put anything away dirty or with fingerprints on it.

The chemicals used to tan leather will make a gun rust.

Get yourself a Bore Store for each gun you keep in your safe. I have one for every firearm I own, handgun and long gun.

Gun Storage - Long-Term, Worry Free Gun Storage Solution - Bore Stores

These guys have been around forever, make a great product and one that actually works like they state!

You can frequently find them on sale at places like MidwayUSA and Brownells.

I think I'm going to get me a couple of those. Thanks, Cane.

What he said. Holster are not a suitable storage vessel for guns. I like the thick plush fleece rugs for all my guns both handguns or long guns. I get them at Midways but I can't recall the manufacturer right now.
