I carry a Bodyguard 380 daily. Absolutely love it.

I have found a couple of LCPs with Laser for under 400. I'm not sure if they are preowned tho. But I would say the bodyguard or ruger 380s. Both are great guns.

For me, the Thunder .380 is a mite large for pocket carry, but I have read of others carrying it that way. I do like the Bersas. My wife has the Thunder & I have the Concealed Carry & not a hiccup with either one.

If I were to carry in my pocket, I believe it would be the Colt Mustang or Sig P238.

The new S&W M&P Shield looks promising as well.

Most of the talk on this thread has been about which pocket auto. I carry a S&W Bodyguard .38spl wheelgun. Light, compact, easy to conceal and the .38spl+p is an adequate personal defense round, better than the .380 IMHO. The DA only trigger pull takes some getting used to, as does the small grip, but you'll get used to both. I rarely use it, but the Bodyguard comes standard with a laser. Just my $.02 worth.

I carry my Bodyguard in a pocket holster everywhere I go. I like the new compact semi autos but there is just something about a snub nose .38 that lets you know when you pull the trigger is will fire everytime. I also carry a Taurus Model 85 in a Blackhawk ankle holster.

I carry a S&W Bodyguard 380. It is excellent for its intended purpose.

Just as long as you accept that break-in ammo, a couple of appropriate holsters, some high quality carry ammo, and an extra couple of magazines will greatly add to the cost...

I personally carry a Kahr CM9 in my collection. It can work as a pocket gun, but I use as my IWB gun when I want to have a smaller gun. If I want to pocket carry, I usually carry my Kahr P380, one of the smallest pocket guns on the market (smaller than the LCP...), but it is more expensive than the CM9. After a $390 price on the CM9, 200 rounds of ammo, 2 holsters, a CT laser (my wife wants to carry it, too, and she likes the little red dot), and Ranger 147grains, I'm closer to $800 than $400. Just be aware that you will need more than $400.

BTW, don't by a used Kahr. I love their guns, but their warranty sucks and doesn't cover used guns. Did y'all know that?
