Well you better get things straightened out. It may not be a typical landlord/tenant business contract but still - their house, their rules. And it's their grandchild so you have to understand where they're coming from. When you're able to get out on your own then things are different.

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together.
You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.

Believe me I love my parents and I will do what they want and my son will know everything about firearms before he puts his hands on one. I am new about owning a weapon but have done everything to a T. In order to protect my family.
Thank u all for your advice.

My guns, the whole collection totalling a whopping !THREE! are maybe right at $1K.

Live a few more decades and you'll need that extra coverage.

I grew upon in a house no guns no motorcycles no slingshots. Glad they didn't take my Playboys. Anyway when I turned 18 I got the motorcycle and a gun. Later in life when I had kids I simply put a trigger lock that locked flush against the trigger guard. Let the anti-gunner play with the gun with that on there and they probably won't say squat. JMB

I've never heard of any insurance inquiring about handguns. Its most
likely due to that pesky 2nd Amendment thing. You know the the one
right after freedom of speech. If you're old enough to raise kids and
pay rent, you're old enough to have a gun. Tell Mom and Dad to
mind their own business.

Ask your parents if they enjoy the freedom and liberty that guns protect.

Tell them that you're thinking about selling the gun and getting a Boa Constricter instead. Maybe the locked gun will seem a little better after they think about that one for a minute
