I was thinking of painting my gun has anyone done it before

Proper prep work is key. Use duracoat.

I heard that zombie green is not to be applied until after 1st of May.

I duracoated my colt 1911. It had severe holster wear when I got it, now it looks brand new. Duracoat is a very good way to go
