I keep seeing people refer to different handguns by initials, many of which I fail to understand. For example FNP and MSH and RIA, I think the last stands for Rock Island Armory but I am unsure. Is there a glossary somewhere?

Google is your friend. FNP stands for Fabrique Nationale Herstal, MSH stands for Main Spring Housing (I think) and RIA does in fact stand for Rock Island Armory.
