I was also going to suggest you add the Springfield EMP to your list. All the guns you listed are great (or so I am told about the ones I haven't shot myself). Having the same controls on guns is important to many people, and the EMP will give you more of the same feel as your Kimber, so you won't get confused under stress. You could also look around for other 1911 pistols in 9mm.

For compact 9mm I went with a CZ P-01 and a Sig 225 and I love them both. The Sig only holds eight rounds, but it's also much slimmer because of the decreased capacity.

Included in the pic is a box of .308 to give a little scale.
