Default New P229 Question

Do I need to send my new P229 XTM that was made in February 2012 to Sig for the e2 grip swap, or can I perform it with the kits sold online? I've looked into this and am looking to see if my pistol already has the springs that will work with the e2 grip kit. Any words welcome.

Torx plus bit #20 will take your stock grips right off . No need to send it in.

Lightbourne - If your P229 is new, the springs should be compatible with the E2 grips without the whole kit. I just bought a new P229 from TGS that came with E2 grips and tool. Unfortunately for me, I have large hands and the E2's felt too small to me. I purchased the standard Sig grips and screws and now have a set of E2's that have never been used. If your interested in the grips, I'd be happy to sell them.

Thank you both for your knowledge and input. I took it out and ran 300 rounds through it and can't imagine it getting any better. I won't change a thing!
