Default New Beretta U22

My 1st handgun. Anyone dry fire theirs? I know you arent supposed to with any rimfire but...

Read that lots of people say you can dry fire the u22 cause the firing pin doesn't actually hit something or other. Because of that its safe to DF all day long.

It does instruct you in the manual to dry fire it when you are preparing to store it empty.

Would love a definitive answer regarding the firing pin not being damaged or causing damage if THIS GUN, the u22 specifically, is dry fired.

I would put an expended cartridge it it before dry firing just as a safety precaution. Give the firing pin something soft to hit.
