Sounds like you should move to the land of the free.
I'm sorry to hear about the bad prices. You certainly put things in perspective for us here in the states.

Yes move to the States is my goal, but I need money and a job offer to move in... I'm saving the money, and looking for the job offer but as the economy is in this moment the job offer wouldn't come in a while so I keep my hope and continue saving money that is a very hard to do thing in here.

When I was buying my .45 ACP I wanted a The Tactical version of the Springfield XD .45 ACP but the price was $699.00
Then I held the Taurus 24/7 OSS DS Tactical .45 ACP and it was a done deal as the NIB models are selling around here for $449.00
The other reason for the switch for me to Taurus is there Unconditional Repair Policy for the lifetime of the firearm and the FREE NRA Membership with every new gun purchase.
I asked about Springfields Unlimited Repair Policy and was told that they do not have one.

It may not be a necessity, but I like the grip safety on the Springfield, and I was very much impressed with the XD I owned.

The Taurus 24/7 is a very good dependable gun. You won't go wrong getting one of those, but I firmly believe that Springfield (and Glock for that matter) firearms are one step above in quality.

Asmel, you've certainly got it rough over there. For what it's worth, Para-Ordnance is a Canadian manufacturer (if I'm not mistaken), so it wouldn't fall under the US embargo. Ammo prices are terrible, I feel like an idiot complaining about prices and laws in Argentina.
I've got a question for the polymer aficionados. I've been thinking about adding a plastic gun to my colection, the Steyr M9 seems quite interesting. How would you compare it with Glocks or XDs? An XD or S&W M&P would be my second choice, but they cost $250 dollars more than the Steyrs down here.

If I could find some Para, I know that would cost around $5000 so I can't afford it.

I've shoot a Steyr M1A in .40S&W before, and I really like the grip but really dislike the sights... If you buy an Steyr the first thing that you should do is change the sights for 3 dot, straight 8 (2 dots) or any that you like, but to me that little triangle is annoying, I don't like the trigger pull very much neither.

I want a .45 bad (on a 1911 platform, as God intended), and I'm debating whether to go with a double stack with 14+1 rounds (Para 16-45) which seems like a pain in the butt to conceal, or a Colt 1991 A1 and a S&W snubbie as a back up.
Maybe a snubnose revolver in addition to a standard capacity .45 might work for you as well, Asmel.

S&W M&P 45 hold 10 + 1 anf tyhe grip is still fairly slim.
