Need some opinions

Hi folks,

I want to buy a new EDC, CCW gun when my tax return comes in.
Lately I've been carrying a .32acp CZ 70 as primary and a .32acp Keltec P32 as backup.
I love the size of the CZ70, it's big enough to be comfortable in the hand, yet small enough to be comfortable carrying all day. However I would like a larger caliber round in a gun of similar size.

I posted this question on another forum about a week ago and the overwhelming majority recommended a Glock 19, which I intend to buy one day anyway because I have grown fond of my G17 after shooting it the other day.

However I'm wondering if the G19 is the best thing for IWB spring/summer carry because it's kind of thick and chunky.

So I've also been looking into the Walther PPK and the Sig P232, both in .380 because they're about the same size as my CZ.

$650 is about my price limit for this gun.

What do you guys recommend?

Take a look at the Ruger SR9 and the SR9c. You may also want to take a look at the CZ 2075 RAMI, especially since you like CZ's. It's a bit thicker than the SR pistols, but it still a really nice size.

for small gun i would look at the bersa thunder 380 and bersa thunder plus 380. another nice small but powerful gun is the colt defender/new agent.

the thunder series has a much better DA trigger than the ppk and the slide doesnt bite the hand.

my thunder plus 15+1 380 ACP

Colt New Agent 45acp 7+1

Thunder 7+1 380ACP

For that price you have a huge pool to pick from. I would go with the lightest/thinnest without giving up caliber/stopping power, at least 9mm+p imo.

I like the size and rounded off/snag free design of guns like the PPK, the Bersa and my CZ. I really wish I could find a pistol of that design in 9mm, but it looks like they're all .380 or .32.

You're right though, I do have alot of choices, That's why I'm so confused right now:o
I really appreciate all the responses I get. I know you guys will point me in the right direction:)

I went with the Sig 239 in .40. It's dehorned and slim, but has some weight.

I was looking at the P239 on Impactguns.com just a little while ago, I've never seen one up close, and I can't really tell how big it is from pictures of the gun by itself, but it's definitely on my list of guns to take a look at next time I go gun shopping.

Give a look to the Walther PPS. The 9mm is fun to shoot, the 40 more snappy but still tolerable for an old person like me. Both will fit your budget. I carry OWB and the gun just disappears under a tee shirt or a sweatshirt.

The PPK/s is a little heavy when compared to others with poly frames.

There is a "Diamond Back" .380 that some of my co-workers seem to be fond of. Small, lightweight, fits in the pocket.
I don't have any experience with the Diamond Back, so I cannot comment on it.

I really don't mind a heavy gun, as I said I carry a CZ70, which is an all steel gun similar to a Walther PP. I like the weight and size, just not the caliber.

I have had the chance to play around with a Diamondback, they appear to be very well made pistols, they're made similar to a Glock, however I already have a pocket size gun, I'm looking for something bigger than that.

Hollander,
I have checked out the PPS and while it is about the size I'm looking for, it doesn't feel comfortable in my hand and I really didn't like the trigger pull on the one I looked at.
But again, that is pretty much the overall size I'm looking for.

Let's see, so far I've been suggested,
Ruger SR9 and SR9c
CZ 2075 RAMI
Bersa Thunder
Sig P239
Diamondback
and Walther PPS.

That definitely gives me an idea of what I need to go and see and handle up close.
Thanks guys!
