They make excellent dive weights.

Well I'm brand new to the forum, but I have shot one in .44 mag before. I thorougly enjoyed it. It was just fun to shoot, regardless of accuracty.

Point I'm trying to make is this: is there anyone here who has one just for ****s and giggles? Anyone who enjoys it just for the hell of shooting something big? Yeah it's not that accurate and it's certainly not practical but it's good if you're just building a collection and want something with a nice bang to it.

Again, disregarding the price and practicality (or lack thereof), doesn't anyone just have fun shooting one? C'mon people...

Yeah, I like KA-BOOM. When I shoot something like a .50AE or S&W 500, I don't really care if I even hit the target... It's pointless, It's costly, It's stupid, but it's also a lot of fun... I own 5 44 Magnums. Two of them are specifically for hunting and are deadly accurate. The others are paper target and shock-wave makers. My favorite is my shock-wave maker. A Ruger Bisley Super Blackhawk, loaded up with 330 grain SWC bullets, powered with 25.5 grains of H110 powder. Picture a 4 foot muzzle blast and a concussion that pushes the air out of your lungs. It ain't good for much, except for chasing other shooters away... far away.

They are ok I suppose but I would rather spend my money on several other choices.

Put a couple years under your belt of shooting all cal. from .44, .357, .38, .45, and .50 and not just once either. Remember when buying a DESERT EAGLE and you've never fired one there's more expenditures than you know.

1. firearm alone costs a pretty penny (dont forget ammo)
2. taking it to the gun smith for repairs everytime you drop it on your first couple times taking it to the range
3. medical charges for the first couple times you strain/ break your wrist

There definitely are better choices than the deagle, but its like an old mustang. If you know what your doing and respect and take care of your weapon you'll have nothing to worry about.
Deagles are nice and get a lot of notice at the range, but make sure its what you want. Look around at other larger caliber weapons and always FIRE BEFORE PURCHASING! happy shopping

Any of the 50 calibers are costly including 50AE, and 500 S&W. Even if you reload. There really isn't a practical use for them... but what the hell, they're Macho.

I've fired the DE .50 a couple of times.

My first reaction was, "That was so damn fun!!"
My second thought was, "This is a really stupid gun."
My third thought was, "Not fun enough to spend the money."
My fourth thought was, "Gimme another magazine!"

It's a GREAT borrow gun... as long as they provide the ammo too.
