Need help on sights
 

I have a sig 226 elite dark. I really don't like how big the siglite sights are on it and am thinking of putting other ones on it. The one thing that stops me is how do I get the siglite sights off. They have two EXTREMELY TINY Allen or star screws in the rear sight that I can't find any tool to get them out. Or do I just push it out with the sight pusher. I don't want to ruin the slide or the screws incase I ever want to put them back on. And if anyone can recommend any new sights for the p226 that would be of help too. I was thinking about the trijicons as I have them on my beretta and I love them. But I want to know what other nice sights there are. Night sights or regular it don't matter. Want to keep it as a combat pistol too. My m9 is my target gun and also my bedside along with my G21.

You need to back the set screws out. Sig may make a specialty tool. You can sand down the end of an Allen wrench if need be just take your time and don't heat it up. Opticsplanet.com may have some sights at a good price. I am a big fan of the fiber optic tritium sights. Looks like the trijicon sights are on sale right now and shipping is free. Don't see the fiber optic tritium sights there.

This is what sig uses to adjust and or remove their sights it's almost 300 dollars I would take it to a gun smith or make the investment

300? Wow. I got the glock sights tool from glockstore ($60) for my glocks. I wouldnt buy any sights tool for more than a $100.

Meprolight is allegedly 20% brighter and come on custom Kimbers. Most people like bigger, brighter sights. I love fiber optic fronts for competition and didn't know they made a tritium fiber optic sight. Perhaps both of us need to some research....

I'm presently using green fiber optics on my HKs and I'm a happy camper. Wee bit high but they were designed for use w silencers.

I don't use a sight pusher. Mallet and a wood dowel will usually do the job. Sight pusher is nice but not a good investment for one time use. Worst case senario a padded vise works well to get the job 90% done.

If you buy your new sights from a LGS - they usuall put them on for free.

I like the new green fiber optic front sight that so many competitors are using.

They literally jump out at you.

Yeah I know most places do. I went to Midwest in Lyons il. And they charge 40.00 to put them on. Eff that.

I'm still searching. I don't know if I like the green fibers. They kind of make the gun look.....cartoony. U know ? At least on a sig. A glock I wouldn't mind. Hard decision brothers.
