need help purchasing american semi auto

Hello, I am looking to buy an American semi-auto pistol, either a .40 or a .45, that is about as out-of-the-box accurate as a Beretta 92fs. I want to spend under $650. Full size or compact, medium-large grip. What should I be looking for, thanks for any help.

I'm quite satisfied with my M&P 45.

Kimmmmmm-berrrrrr! You can find in your price range if you shop around a bit and stick with the "base" models. If you don't prefer the 1911 (but it is the best option IMO) you might want to check out Springfield XD in .45.

good luck!

There are a lot of pistols which will meet your requests. One way to narrow down your options is to look at a sight which lists picture, prices and specs of the pistols. Take a look at www.budsgunshop.com. They carry all the major manufacturers and are a good site to start with. Once you narrow down your list the next step is to try and find a range that rents pistols- some may look great on the web but may not fit your hands, or you may not like the action type (ie- double action only, single action, or a combination of both-SA/DA.) If you find a certain pistol that looks like it might work for you then ask again and maybe we can provide more input. Good Luck.

best wishes- oldandslow
