Got almost 700 rounds through it and not a single malfunction.
The gun is very accurate and the recoil is like wow it's just unique If your in the market for a Sig the 229 or 226 is where it's at you wont regret it trust me. |
I've shot both and was amazed by how much I preferred the 229 over the 226. So if your about to lay down the big bucks, you owe it to yourself to try both.

I'm actually in the market for a 9mm. Are those full size? I looked at a couple sigs but they were compact and I want a full size one and I've shot the ruger sr9 9mm I didn't like the feel of that one. It felt cheaply made and the recoil sucked. So I'm either going for an xd, g17, or sig

The 226 is the full size 229 sub-compact the 229 is no little gun it's basically a little wider and smaller then the 226

I also have both, I carried the P229 for almost 12yrs when I switched to the XD45. I just picked up a 2 tone P226 and started to carry that instead. Currently I am waiting for the P224 to come out in 9mm SA/DA sometime this summer. It is a smaller version of the 226/229 and can use the same magazines.
But you are correct when you say that you can not go wrong with a Sig Classic series pistol. The are priced alittle high, but you get what you pay for and you are defiantly paying for a great pistol. |
I carry the Sig P229. Great pistol with 2 mags of Zombie killers.

My 226 .40 is my bedside gun. A buddy of mine just found a German built 228 and is considering selling his 229.
I just need too shoot it and it's probably a done deal. Been wanting a Sig in 9 mm anyway. Tack |
Relatively new to owning hand guns. Started with the one everyone tells you to buy, Sig mosquito. Water to get used to it then bought a P226 with night sights. DA/SA leaves me very comfortable. Have 4,000 rounds through the mosquito and 500 through the 226. Both are highly accurate and fun to shoot. The mosquito is reliable if you remember to lube the slide with T28B just before using. The 226 has never had a failure and if I didn't live in Jersey I wouldn't hesitate to carry it.
