My one and only handgun.
My father recently agreed to get me a handgun when I finish basic. But only one. I'd like a 9mm, and can't get my mind around a sig because I'm left handed. Price isn't much of problem, and I have no problem with either Sao or Da/Sa. I'd like some options concerning personalization and customization. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Don't know leftie friendly guns well and one I suggest I've only ever handled so no in depth or long term knowledge about, however reviews on Bersa guns, all Bersa guns, is more than favorable. I'd look at their ultra Compact 9mm Thunder...

I like both of the suggestions so far. I own that Bersa and have the CZ75b (righty version). Both are dependable.
I will say that Bersa magazines are not cheap.
There are also a lot of 9mm 1911's that would be very customizable, but i'm not sure they would all be lefty-friendly.

My dad owns a Dan Wesson Specialist he quite literally swears by. I love practically everything about it with the exception of the caliber and possibly the rail (he's like me in the respect, never once used it, but it does look cool without the tact-i-cool look). Playing with it is why I'm used to Sao. I understand that a Cz can be converted to Sao.

RIA also makes a 9mm 1911, if there is a budget involved. Somebody on here has one...

Budget really isn't the issue. I'm going into the Air Force, and any money I make is essentially pocket money. I have no issue saving money either. It's my only gun, might as well make it a good one.
Looking into the CZ custom shop, who apparently makes Dan Wesson 1911s, they have a lot of things that can make a CZ act like a 1911. This is just a thought, but do you think I could order a CZ customized to operate and appear like the specialist? Maybe they could take a bit of the (oversized IMO) rail off even.
Also, I've been wondering, if you have an ambidextrous safety, can you have the right side removed to make it left hand only? Again, just a thought.
