Just got my new Ruger SR 9, haven't shot it yet, but can't wait.

Any tips on shooting this firearm

Yeah,, have fun. Practice often to learn your pistol, then practice, practice some more. Be safe, blast away....

take it apart and clean it before you shoot anything. ive never known factory grease to be helpful when shooting. practice a few times with no ammo. just to get used to where your fingers fall and how much force is needed for the specific functions. then blast away and destroy some targets.

It looks like one sleek pistol

I definitely need to try the SR9 and SR9c out for size. I am considering one for my next purchase.

Definitely read the manual, especially the safety rules. I also like to field strip any gun and clean, lube before shooting. You want an unobstructed barrel not gunked up with anything including too heavy a coating of oil.

You can watch YouTube videos on cleaning and shooting the SR9. And then go out with an understanding and experienced friend or spouse. Remember you can never be too safe. Oh, and enjoy!

Have you bought your next gun yet, if so what kind?

Yes, and especially since I received the Viridian green Laser from "GunTalk Radio" as a prize for calling in on Mother's Day.
