Default Model 41

Picked up a S&W model 41. It's a tack driver as it is right out of the box. It was made in 2009 and never taken out of the case. Safe queen I guess. Anyway has anyone ever lapped the slide or have any suggestions of things I should do to it?

Shoot it and enjoy it. Why lap the slide?

Oh the horror! It's a 41! I have two barrel lengths for mine depending on what I'm using it for. Lap it? Wear it in!!!

Enjoy -- they are special.

I'm with Hock, wear it in. Lapping is a PIA exercise and the gun is smooth (or should be) right out of the box. Wish I could afford one !

Only pistol under $1K that can shoot w a Hamden CT - HS Victor. Enjoy it !

Did you go w 7" or 5.5 Bull barrel ?

Thanks guys. Gonz, it's the 5.5.

I guess I'll just have to shoot the piss out of it!!!! If I can find some ammo. I'm down to less than 1k round of 22long.

I have both in Ruger - the 5.5" has superior balance IMHO.
