I am pretty sure, I mean is happen three times in a row before I put it the same round in an XDm and it fired first try. The shop I bought it from said it had some dirt behind the firing pin but I had already got my shipping label I am hoping they will give me the new slide release too.

I am pretty confident it will work out at this point.

I have recently purchased a M&P 45. First off love it way more than my Glock 17 that I got rid of years ago. Basically Smith and Wesson got it right were Glock went wrong. I do have a question on function though, want to see if anyone else has experienced this. If I slap in a mag when in a clear and safe configuration the slide racks the round in without me releasing the slide. If I gently put a mag in it won't do this. I don't think this is a normal function of this weapon but would like to see if anyone else has had this happen and if so was it a quick fix not worthy of bothering the factory over or do I need to send it to them for evaluation? Thanks guys.

That is normal for all m&p's. In a combat situation, you will not have to rack the slide.

Thanks guys. Never had my Glock do it and well my Browning is a different beast all together so can't compare the two. Glad to know I don't have to be separated from my Smith. Wouldn't know what to do with out it (tear)
