Default Looking for a good 22LR.

Hey everyone. I am in the process of looking for a good quality 22lr pistol. I have fired about a hand full of different makes and models. I don't really have a preference. Just looking for something to plinker around with and has good quality. I am leaning towards one model but trying to leave my options open. Suggestions?

The only .22lr I have shot is a Smith&Wesson model 41. Its an expensive competition grade gun however, it is very picky which ammo it likes. Feed it poor quality ammo and it will have feeding, extracting, and misfires all day long. It's all about the ammo. It is extremely accurate though. I know this probably doesn't help much but I don't have a lot of experience in the .22 pistols.

I have a Smith & Wesson Model 17 revolver. It's considered one of the best 22 revolvers out there, and it's fairly expensive. I've shot many 22's. I think my favorite semi is now the S&W M&P 22. That gun has a fantastic trigger. For a revolver I'd get a 17 or a Ruger SP101 (quite a bit less expensive than my 17).

I'd stick w an all steel Ruger MK II-III. Easily upgraded, loads of after market support.

Browning Buckmark is popular. Even comes in carbine configuration.

Just make sure it's got adj sights. All 22s are finicky about what they shoot well but the Rugers I have will digest anything.

Ruger SR-22 Ive had it for a few months now, hundreds of federal bulk rounds later not one single issue or regret! Light, feels great, tacticool, accurate for me i shoot a pretty small hole with a couple mags.
