Well I went to the local gun store and tried xd 45, xd tactical, Glock, a few 1911s and I went with the M&P 45 full size, I liked my M&P 9 full size, traded it for a M&P 9 compact (easier to carry) Now I have ordered a full size M&P full size to shoot and carry when I'm hunting. I guess I'm old school I ordered it with a manual safety. Thanks for your help.

You tried a 1911 and others and CHOSE the M&P over the 1911??? This is just not possible!! It can't be!!

Glad you are happy with what you have! Happy shooting! We'll expect a full range report with pics asap.

Really liked the 1911s just like the M&Ps better as of right now. I have the 9 compact and love it. Would like to try the 1911s next. It seems that everyone loves them. Which 1911s do you all like and why

Now that's opening a can of worms.

Congrats on your purchase, I expect you will be truly happy with your choice. Many 1911 members here that have expressed there reasons on many thread. Read through the threads, much to learn in them or just read the 1911 thread in the semi auto pistol thread.
