Why didn't they call the 40 S&W the 10mm special? The 40 isn't a bad round it's just so...............unnecessary. But we have lot's of calibers like that. Kind of like Kimbers.

Were the Solo introduced 10 years ago, the 9 mm release would have been followed by a .40 S&W release.

The responses to this thread is an excellent indication of how the hype has fallen off of the .40

While not a bad round in a mid to full size gun, it IS much more difficult to control in pocket guns.

Demand will dictate if Kimber invests in a .40 Solo

Personally, I like the .40 in my SIG 226 but would not touch a mouse gun in this caliber.

I agree with tack, I have 2 40cals, a Sig 239 and a Springfield XDm. I love shooting both of them but think the Sig is as small as I want to go with that caliber. My wife had shot my Sig 1 Time and didn't like it at all, she hasn't shot the XDm yet.
