Default Kahr P40

I am thinking of getting a Kahr P40 and the covert model has a .5" shorter grip than the standard model, would the shorter grip make it harder or easier to control the gun?

i'm no pro but i'd say recoil would be the same, though you -might- get a little more muzzle rise. i don't think it'd be an issue, though. i think the bigger problem would be..

accuracy -may- decline since you -may- not have as full a grip. most people have some accuracy problems if their pinky hangs off the grip. if you can fit all 3 fingers on it though, comfortably, then i'd say go for it if it's what you want.

Default Kahr

While the kahr pistols are excellent quality, they are best suited for smaller hands. My hands are large and even the standard grig is too small for my hands. The smaller a grip you have, the less control you will have. My paws won't permit me to even a good 3 finger hold with the standard grip length.

Well, you guys got me thinking that a P40 might be what I am looking for myself. Probably more money than I want to spend but a viable solution for me as I want to get away from .380 and go to .40 S&W for CCW. My home protection is a .40 S&W Glock G22 but is too large and heavy for CCW I believe.

Picked up the Taurus 140SSP .40 S&W instead of the P40 Kahr. It has been perfect at the range so far with over 500 rounds thru it. I tried several different brands of JHP as well. I have those left over from trial shooting of my G22 .40 S&W for home defense. They all do well but I will be using Speer Gold Dot so I don't have to worry with shopping different brands for different pistols. Makes life easier if you don't have to remember many different variables while shopping.
