Everyone has their way of justifying the money they paid for their gun. Some people bash other guns. Some say how much is your life worth. Life would be much easier if people would just own up to "I wanted it" I have a JA-22 that shoots great. I also have a Colt Diamondback that shoots great. The reason I have the Colt is I wanted it. Just that simple!!

Picked up a j.a.380 a few weeks back. Put a box of ammo through it, only 1 stove pipe. For a pocket gun, it isn't bad. Not as a primary carry gun though. I bought it because it was shiny.

Go Hi Point. $100 to $150 depending where you get it new. Lifetime transferable no questions asked warranty, and they're not as unreliable as people would have you think. I highly recommend them if you need a gun cheap.

The cobra freedom would even be better than a Jimenez, and I wouldn't recommend them, either.

There are many brands that have gone thru phases where there are production periods of quality guns and periods of QC lacking guns. Jimenez is one that has had a majority of the latter, until lately, especially with the JA-Nine. The way to tell the difference is in the packaging. The old style with frame cracking issues and weak takedown pins came in the old box style, with detaching lid. The new strengthened versions come in a fliptop lid type box. That's what I've determined in my experiences with JAs from both eras and confirmed by others who've also come upon the same conclusion, both buyers/users and dealers.
