Default Jam

How many people have had a sig sauer jam on them. Failure to feed. My new to me sig 226 did 4 times today. Bought through gun broker and was sig preowned certified. Will polishing the ramp help? Need input on this please. Also would the mags have a lot to do with it? Ammo was federal 115gr fmj. Really ticks me off. BTW the mags say sig sauer p226 on them. And the gun is the elite.

There has never been a validated malfunction of any kind with any Sig Sauer pistols....ever....those things cost upwards of a thousand smackers.

What's your source for that comment?

Sigs like to run wet...you could try that and try some different ammo...sometimes you run into a bad lot.

I own 6 Sigs going back from 92 to a month ago and after thousands of rounds through each of them the only feed issues I ever had was with swc's in my 220.As far as running them wet I always just put a drop of lube on a q-tip and run it down both sides the slide rail where it has a nice shine but doesn't run either .

I checked up on it and there is a YouTube video of the same problem I was having. I'm calling sig Monday morning to have the mags replaced. The video stated that it was because the mags hang up a little bit and there is play between the magplate and the magwell due from the mag holes on the magazine for the catch release being too high. Hopefully that solves the problem. When I leave work I'm gonna test it out and see if that is the problem. When the mag is inserted into the gun it does hang a little maybe about 3 millimeters or so. So I'm certain that is the problem.

Well...in the mean time and provided you have funds, I would acquire two more mags (you'll want four anyway) and put the mag issue to rest. Then wait for a response from SIG on your current mags.

Yeah I would but those mags are expensive as hell. I'll just see what they say. And whose to say I wouldn't get the same kind of mags if I just go buy them myself. Then I would have 4 bad mags. Just sayin.

I hear you...my P229 SCT came with 4...but, I paid a little more for it than a standard P229.

What ammo were you using? Some of the Monarch that has paint coated casings have jammed a Walther. When the barrel gets hot, the paint sticks in the chamber.

Most failure to feeds are mag related. Check also the mag release.
