Default I'm always looking at odd guns..

Anyone tried an Arcus 98? I think they are made it Bulgaria and are a pretty true clone of the Browning High Power. I've read some reviews and seen a couple on UTube. I wondered if anyone here has one or has shot one. They are hefty (about 32 oz), but one of the UTube movies showed it in action at an Competitive shoot overseas. I'd like to buy one, would like some more info first. Anyone knowledgeable about them? Thanks.

Dave

Thanks MotorG20, That was a great review. Very comprehensive. I guess I'm going to have to buy one.

Be sure to give us a range report when you get it.

I would go for a KBI Hi Power Clone before I'd put out $ for the Arcus. Even the Charles Daly Hi Power. All of them are made in Hungery. Of course they are no longer imported by KBI. (or so I've read) So look for one on GB.com. I see them from time to time around $300. Or even a FM hi Power.( Argentine Made on FN Equipment) The are for sale all ove the place for about the same or better. . Don't go for the FM HP Detective. Parts problems

Well, the Arcus is out. I was at an Academy Sports last Tuesday and drooled over their handguns and buzzed around the Taurus 92 model. It was $429 (not bad). They had a 101P though for $385. Better and it was a .40. After I had fondled it, the salesman told me it was on sale for $299. I couldn't pass that up for a name brand that has a good reputation in this Beretta style pistol. I took it home and after a quick clean-up, I ran a hundred rounds through it without a hitch. It was accurate and the weight soaked up the recoil. I like it! Thanks for the input on the Arcus.
