Default i want opinions on my next carry piece

I'm just looking for opinions on two semi autos. I'm in between a xds and glock 29. My edc now is a xd9 subcompact and when CT decided that it was unsafe for me to carry scary hi capacity 13 round or 17 round mags I now want something with a bigger hole. Capacity was my driving factor for 9mm so my logical next purchase would be something in 10mm. My thoughts were a 29 but looking at specs its a brick and knowing me I'll probably just carry my lcp. The other idea was a xds but I liked the idea of 10 rounds. Oh decisions decisions. I'm open to banter.

10MM is pretty snappy to fire from a carry piece, but to each his own. A Glock 29 only weighs as much as a Glock 17, though.

Considering the weight of some of the revolvers that people are carrying nowadays, the weight of a 29 seems pretty reasonable.

If you practice enough with your 29, you're going to appreciate that extra weight.

Well the Glock has a lower bore axis, so if we're talking the same caliber it should have less felt recoil. However, .45 to 10mm isn't exactly a fair comparison. Personally I wouldn't want to CC a 10mm. I used to CC a .40 and the recoil was a bit snappy. I imagine 10mm would be worse.

I don't know, I guess if it were me I'd do the XDs. Although, full disclosure, I'm not a fan of Glocks.

Have you looked at the Bersa Thunder45UCP? It's a DA/SA with a decocker, so operation would be less natural.

I'm not a big fan of limiting oneself to 5+1. I know they have a 7+1 option in 45acp, but why not consider the XDs in 9mm?

I would think staying with Springfield would have its own benefits since the triggers will be similar. I'm a big fan of having your carry guns have as similar triggers as possible. I've got a couple of Kahrs and a couple of Glocks...so at least not 4 different triggers.

Picked up my new favorite...a glock 30s. The best part about it is its the same basic dimensions as my xd9 subcompact. So 3 outta 4 of my xd holsters already fit. Win.

Both have recalls for certain serial numbers. Look into it.

I love me Beretta Nano, you might too!

over those i prefer the colt new agent in a very small 45 carry gun. 7+1 in a very very small very very light package 22.5oz

just something to look at. if you dont like cocked and locked there is a da version .5oz heavier
