I have both an SR9 and SR9C and these guns are very easy on recoil. I've only had 1 failure to feed on my first day of shooting 8 months ago and have not had any issues since in >1,200 rounds. You can't go wrong with these guns.

Yeah kinda do bad habit. Gun was empty but yeah not very safe
Hopefully you change your "bad habit" before you get yourself or, more importantly someone else hurt or killed.
