There are replacement parts for the 22/45 to make takedown easier. The SR22 us a far smaller barrel than my 22/45 (5.5") and while the SR is fun to shoot you can't beat the 22/45 in accuracy.

The trigger isn't too bad to it still feels gritty so I'd consider a trigger job or replacement. And i would just like the magazine to DROP when I press the mag release so removing the disconnect would be needed.
Yeah, the take down isn't as bad as most make it out to be. It's just time consuming. What front sight are you getting? I was just going to paint mine with some high viz orange paint.

Also, that magazine bushing to remove the disconnect that JTJ posted might improve your trigger. You might want to try that before getting a trigger job on it.

so far mine has digested everything i have fed it. not that i have tried every brand of 22 ammo available, but so far, mine has had no problems with what i have bought to use in it.

i absolutely enjoy shooting mine. and don't regret buying mine one bit. my only regret is that i wish i had bought one many years ago though.

Axxe for some reason I thought it silly to own a .22 if I was going to carry a larger caliber. But now my kids are older and it would be great for them to get interested in shooting because of their first experience was pleasurable. And a .22 does just that. Plus with ammo priced as it is, well need I say more. My next range trip is going to be spent shooting from a bench to see if there are any huge differences in various ammo is stock.
As for the front sight, something like this: http://bit.ly/HncaxE
I tried painting the front sight white, big mistake. I didn't achieved the desired result. Just a basic hi viz sight. Nothing special BC ultimately I'm putting a micro red dot on it.
