I broke down and bought it!

I just pulled the trigger (bad pun) on a S&W M&P 9mm. It's my first plastic gun, since I'm pretty traditional when it comes to firearms and knives. My excuse to get it was that my girlfriend finds it comfortable (with the smallest backstrap) and se can handle 9mm recoil.

I'd like to get a good holster, and perhaps some useless toys to fit on the rail (just because it's there). Which ones would you recommend?

I still have to wait for a week or two for the damned paperwork to come through, so if you guys have any horror stories about M&Ps this is the time to share them, I can still get my money back!

JD, don't worry, I haven't crossed over to the dark side. I also put down the first payment on a Para 1911.

I've heard very good things about the S&W MPs. I still want the 45 for a HD with a light / laser unit. But I've spent enough on guns for awhile.:o:o

Useless toys? We're all about useless toys

Congrats on your new purchases, btw

Hardly useless. What if you run out of ammo in close combat? Or need to slice a piece of pizza? That's forward thinkin' right there.

Is that for slicing through fog? :D

Don Hume makes a good inside the waist band holster in leather, I have this for my M&P 45, Galco also has a nice IWB holster, I have this for my M&P 9mm compact. I also have a blade teck paddle holster for the 45 but I don't care for it much. I have a light/laser combo with a quick disconect I put on the 45 at night for HD.

I think you will enjoy the pistol, I know I like mine.

I've only heard good things about the M&P's.

I ordered one of the Galco OWB holsters.

WDB, what brand of light/laser do you have on yours?

I have a insigt, you can see it on my M&P 45, the other pistol is a FNP-40 with a low profile laser also made by insight. Both also have Trijicon tritium nights sights.

Congrats on the new purchase.:D
I have a M&P .40c and enjoy it very much. Accurate, reliable, easy maintenance, what's not to like about the M&P series.
I don't have any accessories for mine, because I carry mine with me
and don't need the accessories hanging up in a pocket if I need to take it out quickly. Plus the M&P is a little on the heavy side so I don't need the extra carry weight.
