How much does it cost to have a gunsmith install a new slide and barrel?

I was talking to CZ custom and it'd be 550 to get the new long slide and 250 for installation on a SP01 model. They won't have aforementioned slides in for a while and wanted to know If there was any way to cut corners. 250 just seems a little steep for installation. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about cz75spo1. I believe you could buy a new one cheaper.

You pay a gunsmith for what he knows how to do, his time, and parts.
You may think that you are paying him/her for what they are doing. Wrong.

To test this, try to do it yourself.

I agree, but if this is the gun he can get it for the price of the parts.

CZ recently came out with a long slide version of the standard CZ 75. They told me they'd sale a full upper for 550 and it'd be 800 for full parts and installation. I want to get the long slide installed on the CZ75 SP01 frame, but if I can do it cheaper than I will. By the way, the link is for the SP01 phantom model, which is the polymer variation. I can about promise you I don't have the DYI gunsmithing skills for something like this, so If someone could provide me with a rough estimate.

The new variation? The CZ75 Shadow CTS LS runs for $1400, but that's with a crap load of performance parts. I just want to get one a basic model of the SP01 (which has a rail) with the long slide installed, then add the performance parts on later. In all honesty, a basic $450 model of the CZ75 beats the crap out of most 9mm, and for what my final bill will be, my custom will put most high end models to shame in both price and performance.
