So, my preference for 1911s has moved to strong side, stock (Colt) sized safety only.

Of note, I don't carry cocked and locked anymore but don't fault those who do. I think the original safety is much more forgiving for daily carry than what I had. These days, mostly, I use a Galco summer comfort IWB for my G19 but plan on getting a N82 soon after I get back to the US.
When I carried a 1911 it happened to me a couple times because of a cheap holster that didn't protect the thumb safety like it should. I got a better holster and never had the problem again

I don't have two ways.

I am not a quick draw, the 1911 is a tool for me. Carried for years and acquired certain safety habits.

That is what I was thinking. The first part of the draw, as I was taught was to get the strong hand on the grip. Again, I am easily thrown off if I train two different ways, so I have to stick to the KISS method, which for me is only one draw.

Not saying the way I do it is the only/best way.

Cocked and locked. The way it was meant to be carried. If you don't like that carry method with a 1911 please do yourself a favor and get a different type of gun to carry.

I think we should all do this. Look how safe Mayberry was.
Hell Barney Fife didn't even carry rounds in his revolver.

I like how you think. But aren't to taking a chance with all that loose ammo in your pocket? It does not take all that much to make one of those primers go off. Ever considered carrying the bullets in an ammo box?
