The russian government set out for a new pistol with higher capacity, more reliable and with a higher rate of fire than the duty side arm. The markarov is being replaced with something called a strizh produced by Arsenal. This may be just what arsenal needed to keep them out of bankruptcy. From what ive read it is similarp to glock g-17. Chamber in 9mm it is able to hold up to 30 rounds and has the ability to go from single action to full auto with the flip of a switch. Ill post pics i just found this interesting, if anyone has heard of the us producing a new military firearm please fill me in i want a new toy

It's longer, wider, heavier and holds 3 less rounds than a than a Glock 17/18 with an extended mag.

It bet it would have been more cost effective to just adopt the Glock, but then there's that Rusky pride thing.

I was just comparing it to the g17, i didnt know they had 33 round mag
