Best reason I've seen for going to a gun show is for something I can't find at the local gun stores. I see brands/models that I can't find here.

Lol I'm a little worried now... I'm hoping to find a small carry weapon... A .380 or a .38 special or something small.....I have sigma 9mm but it's a bit large to carry in the summer months.....

How about something like a KelTec pf9... should be able to find one at your local shop or have one delivered for pretty reasonable... still gives you the larger caliber and is a good deal smaller than your sigma...

I look at gun shows as entertainment. I would be willing to pay 6 bucks to do other things to entertain myself. If I find something to buy thats great. If not...then I got to look at a bunch of antiques and other cool stuff. I often look for mags for oddball guns and stuff like that. One time I saw a guy with a whole table full of 1911 parts. I didnt know what they were back then. Now that I am really into 1911s. I wish I had bought some stuff. I rememer he had compensators for $20. I dont need one. But what the heck...you can never have enough useless crap. Right?

The last gun show I went to, I was looking to handle a few specific 9mm, found only 2 of the 4 I was considering. The prices were the same as lgs or even a little more. Talked to a glock dealer there who said he agreed to not undercut some of the other vendors on new glocks and that he can sell cheaper in his store or at other shows. Bought some good popcorn, beef jerky and a used pocketknife for my son though, that was the only deal I found.

Unfortunately, I have to side with the general consensus. The days of finding the bargains of the century are long gone at shows. Yes, it's possible to come across a deal on occassion and in recent times I've found one or two myself, but this is an increasingly rare thing. The worst ones are the ones that let anyone sell anything at it. I don't know of too many that go to a gun show to buy a cell phone case, a purse or candles. They can be good venues for parts and accessories and sometimes ammo, but other than for the window shopping value and something to do on a Sunday morning, not much else I'm sorry to say.
