CZ 82 the Bersa Thunder .380 or the Bersa BP9cc 9mm are all good choices. Another you might look at is the Ruger SR9c which is a really nice CCW gun.

Two types of handgun I would not recommend for most people for defense/concealed carry.
Revolvers - takes a lot of training and practice to reload fast; and the speed loaders are bulky.
Double action pistols - takes a lot of training and practice to shoot accurately.

My personal preference is a double-action/single-action pistol. But, of course, it's what you have the most confidence using.

Thanks for suggestions on next CC purchase under 400. I took to heart the suggestion of a CZ-82 and have applied for a C&R Lic. They seem to be available. But, not all seem to be in such great shape. While I wait, I am loking at the Bersa Thunder .380 in Satin Nickel 2-tone. Any complaints about this piece?

If you have not already, read my post, #46, on the Bersa.

In the price range you're looking at I think the BERSA 9 mm UC Pro or the BERSA thunder 380 are probably your best choices

CZ-82 and the Bersa Thunder .380 are both good guns, accurate and dependable. I own a Bersa Thunder .380 and have 500 flawless rounds shot. If you decide you ever want a 9mm look at the Bersa guns also.
Great value for a moderate price.

I can't believe that anyone would tell someone to get a LCR at 13.5 oz and tell them to use Buffalo Bore +P ammo! Their gun hand will hurt & won't be able to stay on target. The gun is just to light.

Weight really helps with recoil - look in the range of 22+ oz: heck, those aluminum S&W .38 revolvers aren't much good either. With.380 ammo you can get by with being about 20 oz: .38 & 9mm, you better have more weight or you won't shoot it more that a time or 2 and then leave it in a drawer for the rest of it's time.
Single stack helps with concealment: if you are in a big shoot out, you are in the wrong place to start with.

If you are going to go really light weight with a gun, you better be looking at a .32 or .22 (not a .25): 'bad breath' distance guns that will fit in the palm of your hand.

You'll love the CZ82 (Bersa too). Don't be discouraged when the CZ shows up and you look at the rifing and think the barrel has been shot out since it's pretty smooth inside. Actually, the CZ has Polygonal rifling like Glocks do. They are very accurate and seem to wear for ever. Enjoy.

Dave
